As-found error = as-found − reference; as-left error = as-left − reference; adjustment change = as-left − as-found. Optional tolerance is an absolute ± value or percentage of |reference| according to the selected basis.

At reference 100, as-found 101.2 and as-left 100.3, error improves from +1.2 to +0.3 and the reading changes by −0.9.
