A rectangular slab uses length × width × thickness. A circular pad uses π × radius² × thickness. Footings, beams, piers, and steps should be separated into shapes that match their actual geometry.

Handle irregular conditions honestly
Ground variation, over-excavation, forms, embedded items, voids, and uneven thickness can move actual consumption away from the drawing quantity. Measurements from only one point may not represent the whole placement.
