Quick guide

How to use this calculator

  1. Enter the multiplicand.
  2. Enter the multiplier.
  3. Read or copy the exact product.

Calculation method

Multiply integer coefficients and combine decimal scales

Each accepted decimal is stored as an integer coefficient and a count of fractional places.

The coefficients are multiplied exactly, and the result's decimal scale is the sum of the two input scales.

Worked example

Multiply 1.20 by −3.0

The signs differ, so the result is negative. The combined input scale is three decimal places.

1.20 × (−3.0) = −3.600

Supported inputs

Precision and limits

Exact decimal input

Each value may contain up to 200 digits, including up to 100 decimal places.

No hidden rounding

Accepted values use integer-backed decimal arithmetic rather than binary floating-point math.

Clear syntax

Enter plain decimal notation without grouping separators, fractions, or scientific notation.
