Quick guide
How to use this calculator
- Choose or enter the pay basis, working time, rates, and adjustments that match the scenario you actually need to research.
- Use one currency and keep every amount on the period named by its label. Leave optional adjustments blank when they do not apply.
- Review the main answer together with the companion outputs, formula, and boundaries before comparing pay or making a decision.
Calculation method
Calculation method
Shift pay = shift hours × (base rate + fixed premium + base rate × percentage premium).
Calculations use exact fixed-decimal arithmetic. No tax table, employment rule, benefit entitlement, or currency is selected automatically.
Worked example
Worked example
Ten shift hours at 20 with a 10% premium plus 30 other hours give total gross pay of 820.
Shift pay = shift hours × (base rate + fixed premium + base rate × percentage premium).
Supported inputs
Precision and limits
Visitor-entered rules
Use one currency and one consistent pay period. Rules are supplied by the visitor; no jurisdiction, statutory entitlement, tax band, or payroll compliance result is inferred.
Period and unit matching
Amounts, hours, rates, service periods, and deduction bases must describe the same scenario. A mathematically valid result can still be unsuitable when inputs use inconsistent periods or definitions.
Employment and tax boundary
The result does not determine worker classification, overtime eligibility, taxable benefits, withholding, statutory leave, minimum pay, severance entitlement, VAT recoverability, or compliance in any jurisdiction.
Interpretation
Pay and compensation comparisons are scenarios, not promises. Bonus, equity, benefits, commuting costs, utilization, unpaid time, and deductions may change or be valued differently by the visitor.
Precision and privacy
Plain decimals accept up to 30 digits and 12 decimal places, with monetary inputs capped at 1e12. Calculations remain in this browser and raw entered values are not submitted to 365CALCS.COM.
