Basket total = housing + food + transport + utilities + health/insurance + other recurring costs; percentage difference = (comparison − current) ÷ current × 100%.
Entered decimals use exact rational arithmetic. Money rounds only for display and a smaller nonzero amount remains visible. Repeating percentages use parentheses; an ellipsis marks a preview longer than 12 places.

Worked example
A current basket of 3,000 and comparison basket of 3,300 differ by 300, so the comparison is 10% higher.
Basket total = housing + food + transport + utilities + health/insurance + other recurring costs; percentage difference = (comparison − current) ÷ current × 100%.
