How the travel range and endurance calculator works

Convert a visitor-known endurance into conservative planning distances without guessing fuel, battery, consumption, or regulatory reserve rules.

Usable travel time = total endurance − reserve; maximum one-way range = speed × usable time; equal-speed out-and-back turnaround distance is half that range.

At 18 knots with 6 hours total endurance and a 1-hour reserve, usable endurance is 5 hours, one-way range is 90 nmi, and equal-speed turnaround distance is 45 nmi.
