Exact angular pixel scale = 2 atan(pixel pitch ÷ (2 focal length)); small-angle scale = 206264.806 × pixel pitch/focal length in consistent units. Field of view uses 2 atan(sensor dimension ÷ (2 focal length)).

Telescope Plate Scale and Field of View example
At 1,000 mm focal length and 3.76 µm pixels, the small-angle scale is about 0.775 arcsec/pixel.
