Use CAC and LTV from the same acquisition period, segment and currency. Revenue LTV cannot be compared cleanly with fully loaded CAC as though both measured profit.

Published rules of thumb vary by model, maturity and capital conditions. Use internal sensitivity, cash constraints and strategic goals instead of declaring one ratio universally good.
Add recovery time
A favorable lifetime ratio can still strain cash when contribution arrives slowly. Inspect CAC payback and the confidence interval around retention.
Investigate extremes
A low ratio can signal weak margin, retention or acquisition efficiency. A very high one can reflect under-spending, omitted costs, selection bias or inflated LTV.
